America....
They awoke the sleeping giant!
(and he's not a happy camper!)

We would like to add our condolences to the many that have been sent from around the world.
To the family and friends of those lost and still missing in the horrendous, cowardly attacks on
The World Trade Center's Twin Towers and the Pentagon, to the families of the firefighters and policemen who were lost, trying to rescue others.  We would also like to thank those firefighters, policemen, steelworkers and other volunteers who continue to risk their lives searching for victims.  God Bless you all!

369 dead..310 identified........... 4,986 lost ,  I think we found them....

I'm told this sketch was done by a 15 yr old in Pennsylvannia, if anyone knows the name, please let me know,
it's at the bottom of the picture, but we can't quite read it.(It looks like it might say Bonny)

This page has been made in tribute to America and to give our poets a platform for their feelings, whether it be their own grief, sympathy for others, a vent for their rage (don't get too crazy, we can't accept profanity, it's still a family page) or to show these terrorists that they've played their game for the last time.
A stage to say you're
Proud to be an American..... or you're proud of your American friends.

Just a Broken Wing
Buildings topple down to rubble,
Lives are lost and people fear,
Shock is seen across the nations,
And our Eagle sheds a tear....

Airports closed, and the world watches,
Sends condolences and support,
Security increased at airports,
Railway stations, every port.

Efforts now are concentrated,
On saving victims..... we have hope,
And the Churches now are crowded,
God is helping us to cope.

But, though outwardly we're damaged,
The Eagle's wing is healing fast,
And tears don't mean our Spirit's dampened,
Our Pride and Spirit stand steadfast.

BUZZARDS....you've fed on the helpless,
To you, destruction was instinct,
Watch out now, the Eagle's coming....
And your kind will be extinct!

Send a Message
In my e-mail came a survey,
The World Trade Towers have been destroyed,
Do you think we should rebuild them?
Quickly fill the empty void?

Well, I said, "Of course, rebuild them"
Is there any doubt, I said,
But build them so they send a message,
Just use this design instead.

United We Stand
Osama Bin Laden is going to pay
for the acts of terrorism he made that day.
We seek revenge for the lives that were lost,
we will make him burn for all he cost.
Because we're America, United we stand,
with our fellow Americans we will protect this land.
I tell you this.... it's no lie,
the day will come  when he says good bye.

The Gates to World War III
Although the sun is shining bright, with
The blue sky calm and clear,
I feel a tugging deep down in my gut
And a sound rings in my ear.

A sound of pure terror, the tolling of death,
Great buildings one moment we see,
Then thousands of bodies come showering down
To be hidden in fallen debris

This lethal blow was designed to send
Our country down on its knees
To destroy forever our free way of life
The demise of democracy.

But the evil forces that wielded the sword
Were  confronted with shock and surprise.
They could observe us from this tragedy
Like a Phoenix from ashes rise.

We are a people of great resolve
With razor sharp wills of steel.
We'll strike back hard to show that we
To their evil will never yield.

From each and  every corner of  earth
Where  bearers of terror would dwell
We will strive to remove each vestige
Of every terrorist cell.

We face an arduous, wartime pace
Deprivation, sacrifice, there  will be
Blood, sweat and tears for many years,
In an ominous World War Three

Can bear the wear of eroding time"

Continue To Pray

All light a candle
Bow head in prayer
Hold out your hand
Show love and care

All light a candle
Today bring a shine
Open up your heart
In sincerity and time

All light a candle
I shall do the same
Heartfelt in prayer
Kneel by the flame

All light a candle
Spread love today
Hoping for peace
Continuing to pray

United Tomorrow

Eternal human spirit
Raise up with spark
With flames of hope
Triumph over dark

All come together
Uphold community
To help in the crisis
Strengthening unity

Wherever the need
Support and sustain
Supply the strength
Help over the pain

Throughout a crisis
In tears of sorrow
Heart togetherness
Unites us tomorrow

Heart And Caring Hands

Allow me my point of view
Maybe not the same as yours
Although I will listen to you
Whilst your heart outpours

We all possess heart inside
It will break and again repair
 Helping each other in trauma
We all have heart's that care

Steadfast we shall all unite
Be resolute , faithful and true
In agreement and harmony
I shall share my heart to you

I have witnessed the anger
The feelings of utter despair
There are no magic potions
Only the heart showing care

With words in my poetry
Hope everyone understands
We all build the  tomorrows
With heart and caring hands

Reason to Be
INTO THE CHALICED
HEART OF SAD HUMANITY
POUR LOVE SELFLESSLY.
GIVE SOLACE TO BLIND
EMPTY ONES, BRING
HOPE AND PROMISE TO ALL.

The following poems are by
Anna Marie Hoyer

I'm an American

My candles shall burn into the night
For those that lived, for those that have died
My flag shall fly proud yet dropped to half mast
To remind us all of these days that have passed

I'm an American, and this is my home
a deadly seed's planted, how quickly it's grown
Down within history this day will now roam
how it will end, no one yet knows

Put aside your hate, your fear and your anger
Pray for the lost souls and those close to danger
Give words of STRENGTH to those that have fear
And offer a shoulder to those who shed tears

United we stand and Divided we fall
United we'll gather to answer the call
America the Beautiful shall always be
Home of the Brave, we'll fight to stay free

The Last Lullaby
A Dedication to those lost within
The World Trade Center.
Remember all the smiles
and cry for a while
And the day was dark with lost life
We lost men and children and
the one you called wife

With every happiness comes pain
And each sunny day can bring the rain
With every breath there comes doubt
Remember the twin towers that stood so proud

For 25 years Our Nation adored you
But now the tumbling twins
have left us feeling blue
But you gotta look back on the good instead
We'll never forget the day
written down now in red.

When you see them reaching,
for those angel wings
Listen carefully for the lullaby they are gonna sing
When they reach out, give them
a strong hand to hold
Lend them voice and let the last lullaby unfold

Four planes came crashing down
Leaving in it's wake, an eerie feeling and sound
And now you wish to cry for a while
Nary a face is carrying a smile

Well they said that it was an act of terror
Said they had the answer
Time is running out for those buried below
Will they make it? No one knows...

They are reaching for those Angel Wings
We are listening for them, as they sing
They are reaching for the stars
We are listening for their guitar

Memories good and memories bad
Memories of love and memories sad
Memories of kisses and angered screams
Memories of a killer from over the seas...

Our nation is holding on, and holding tight
We've lit our candles, to give them light
We are holding each other close
and letting them cry
As our nation listens for the last lullaby.....

America Attacked!
Two thousand one, September day eleven
Many a loved ones left us for Heaven
Taken from us, by total surprise
By no good cowards of evil demise

Our Sky was darkened, no morning sun
Debris filled streets, people on the run
Tomorrow, when all the smoke clears
We’ll see the sun, be it through tears

Our family’s deaths, will not be in vain
For all America has come together again
Terrorist thinking that they broke our spirit
Our bugle sounds loud and proud, listen you’ll hear it

Our Army, Air Force, Marines (ooh rah!), Navy on the Seas
We’ll get the guilty ones bringing them to their knees
Don’t think it’s over, when we have them on the ground
They started it, we’ll finish it, chambering another round

Our love ones watching from Heaven
To see what we will do
The guilty will be brought to justice
In remembrance of all of you

May God be with us giving guidance
As we are on our way
To show the world that no one
Yes! No one messes with the U.S.A!!

Dedicated to those whose lives were lost,
Their loved ones, the rescuers, and to our brave
Men and women of our military who will put themselves in
Harms way for our way of life

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

I Just Have One Question......
Author Unknown....
NOW that the President has called us to prayer........
NOW that Congress has called us to prayer.............
NOW that our Governor has called us to prayer........
NOW that the city Mayor has called us to prayer.....
NOW that the "liberal" media and most other branches of our American
society have called us to prayer........
AND NOW that our churches are assembling in special prayer..
"Honorable" Justices of the Supreme Court, I have only one question..
Would it be okay to pray in our schools.......???????

Wings of Prayer
Imagine each prayer has  wings of its own,
From wherever place a man calls his home.
Across America or on foreign ground
The prayers  ascend with a thundering sound.
Carrying despair, carrying pain,
Hopes of seeing their loved ones again.

Picture those myriad wings in the sky,
Billowing, swirling to God on high.
Oh, yes You listen, to every  care,
Carefully counting each  heartfelt prayer.
The hardest  part is for us to hear
Negative news of one we hold dear.

While hateful stench from the towers arise
A prayer cloud on wings continues reprise.
Prayers for the lost beneath piles of debris,
Divine supplications-desperate pleas.
Oh Lord! Please protect heroes  these days
Bless fire fighters -- police with Your Grace.

You  hear each child’s cries borne on wings so small,
Cries of  homeless, who have nothing at all.
Know the emptiness in a woman’s life,
Who becomes a widow instead of wife.
You will in time, sort out these many things,
Which come to you on fluttering prayer wings.

Bless iron workers and each volunteer
Doctors and nurses, whose prayer wings you hear.
Only the Magnificant God could know,
The distress of Your children here below.
You are in charge that justice  be done,
By Your Will let retribution be won.

Keep His heavens filled with prayers on wings,
Winding their way to the King of Kings.
He has power to give us His Grace,
If we humble ourselves  and seek His face,
Read His Book and understand,
He has the power to heal our land.

A Day of Infamy Etched On Our Souls
Eleven September, two thousand and one-
This date throughout time will impart
The pain that was felt on this infamous day
And forever be etched on our hearts.

On this clear, sunlit day in the early Fall
In this land of the brave and the free,
Destruction and terror have left evil marks
In the annals of all history.

From the dungeons of Hades, through wide open gates
The forces of evil have swirled.
To create a thunderous, lasting impact
That was heard throughout all of the world.

The intent was creation of chaos and fear,
Where massive anarchy would reign.
Our freedom no longer would be our great strength,
And our deep faith in God would be drained.

Like the much shattered buildings that crumbled and fell,
Our people they expected to see
Lose faith and resolve and instantly bring
Them crashing down hard on their knees.

Heinous, barbaric, these terrorist acts
Are intended to create confusion.
Instead, they inspire our people to meld
into a more closely knit union

Lord, When the Evil is Overthrown
Please Lord, stay with us,
As we answer this attack,
Help rid this world of evil,
Let our soldiers come back,

Standing tall as victors ,
And not in body bags,
With medals pinned upon their chest,
Instead of with toe tags.

Please protect the innocents,
In our country and theirs,
But let us find the cowards,
And "Smoke them from their lairs".

We hesitate to go to war,
It's against our grain to kill,
But we've turned our cheek too many times,
This guy's an imbecile!

And now it's time to rid this world,
Of those who do not care,
Who kill and run and hide in caves,
Please Lord answer this prayer.

Let innocent casualties be few,
Let the Devil take his own,
Let Peace return to the world once more,
As this evil is overthrown.

A New World Is Born
Wounded, yet strong - we ascend
Sad, yet determined - we climb
Struck, yet valiant - we emerge
A galvanized world - in time.

Never, in all of history,
have we bound together so tight,
thwarting tyranny's power
with the brilliance of freedom's light.

Up from the ashes - we come
Up from the pain - we rise
Up from the fear - surge
One voice - of magnificent size.

Remember, for all eternity,
the unity forged this day.
Let the loss of life be a flame,
forever lighting our way.

THAT PRESIDENTIAL WALK
THAT PRESIDENTIAL WALK
THAT PRESIDENTIAL STYLE
A SWAYING DECLARATION
IN EACH COURAGEOUS MILE

THE METER OF HIS ARMS
IN RHYTHM WITH HIS GAIT
HIS EYE IS ON THE SPARROW
IN PRESIDENTIAL STATE

IN HARMONY OF SPEECH
THE POWER  OF ASIDES
A MISSION SO EMBEDDED
THE COUNTRY THAT HE GUIDES

GOD GRANT HIM THE WISDOM
FROM HOLOCAUST TO RISE
LEAD HIM IN HIS FOOTSTEPS
DECISIONS EVER WISE

 The Price of Freedom.
What is freedom?
Freedom to think and say and do in our society;
Freedom to share in the government of our democracy.

The right of freedom has been abused by wicked infiltrators;
For the sake of freedom we must avenge these evil perpetrators.

As we mourn the thousands gone from our midst, too early to heaven sent,
We must be strong and use restraint, lest we hurt the innocent.

Further blood shed would be in vain if the terrorists live to kill again;
If freedom does not win the day,
What a terrible price to pay!

My thoughts and prayers are with all our American friends at this devastating time

The Day That Changed Us All

The day began as many days,
With skies so clear and blue…
People carried out their tasks
Without a thought of you.

But suddenly, the earth stood still,
As terror filled the skies…
Life, as we had come to know
was changed before our eyes.

Oh God, you heard the many cries
That rang across our land…
Even those who seldom pray
Came forth with praying hands.

Others who have followed you
Were lost for ample words…
And no one was prepared for it;
This horror we observed.

And as the days and weeks go by
We search to find our way…
To help our children understand
What happened on that day.

Their future lies uncertain now,
As reality sets in…
Their innocence and carefree ways
Now drifting far from them.

Help us Father, as we cope
To give Your strength, Your joy
To every child upon this earth,
Each precious girl and boy.

The young adults, who, yesterday,
Had college plans ahead…
now suddenly may find themselves
involved in war instead.

Help us rise above our grief
And lead us close to You…
As parents, we all need to know
What You would have us do.

Help prepare our "children" now,
As soldiers, brave and tall...
Rise them up, beneath Your wings,
That none may slip and fall.

Out of Ashes Come Heroes
On that terror filled day of the Tragic Attack,
Many heroes stand tall in the light.
But foremost to me was a man who went down
On one of the ill-fated flights

He knew that his limited time would be short
That soon he was destined to die,
But the terrorists' plans he knew he  must thwart
He at least  was determined to try.

Oer a cell phone his wife was to hear his last words.
Ere he became part of the toll.
He said to his friend with a grim final tone
"Are you ready," he asked."Then let's roll."

So forward they  charged, and a struggle ensued.
As they tried for control of the plane.
Though we may never learn the detiails, we know
That their efforts were not made in vain,

Then on Pennsylvania's bleak country side
The wreckage was soon to be found
The  broken remainders of Flight Ninety Three
Were scattered oer blood spattered ground.

This brave-hearted patriot's heroic action
Helped avert tragic acts that were greater-
Satanic plans that were shaped in the mind
Of demonic, evil practicing haters.

A hero appearing  before me I see.
God bless him, give peace to his soul.
This special man standing so tall is he
Who said to his friend, "Let's Roll!"

...Thomas Burnett, senior vice president and chief operating officer of
medical device manufacturer Thoratec, was on United Airlines Flight 93
when it crashed in western Pennsylvania. Burnett, 38, called his wife
Deena from his cell phone. He told her that the flight was doomed and that one passenger had already been stabbed to
death. But he said that he and two other passengers were going to, in his words, "do something about it."

Are YouPrepared?
Shock, disbelief!
Horror, grief, tears,
I'm past all of these,
Left with anger and fear.

I really can't watch,
That plane hit one more time,
Yet I must keep the anger,
Fresh in my mind.

For they've drained my emotions,
Anger can't disappear,
With no sense of well being,
I'll have nothing but fear.

I thought I knew that one,
But what I knew before,
Was a drop in the bucket,
Compared to this war.

So I'll increase my anger,
For I'm not prepared,
To let the world know,
That I'm really scared!

Prayer for America
Heavenly Father, I pray to You
for America today,
and there are those who join me
in this humble prayer I pray.
An evil foe attacked us
and many souls have died.
Many more were wounded
seeking safe places to hide.
Great buildings were crumbled
into ashes on the ground,
but worse Lord is the hurting
who now in grief abound.
I pray for those, the living,
who had a loved one die.
Because of this mad bombing,
now daily, they just cry.
I pray for those the grieving
those who have a broken heart,
and need the love and mercy,
that only You impart.
I pray for those the wounded
and all the pain they bear,
They need Your help to heal.
Please keep them in Your care.
I pray for all the children
who lost their Mom or Dad.
Now they on Earth won't see them
and this shall leave them sad.
I pray You Heavenly Father,
please draw them close to You.
For they shall surely suffer
whatever else they do.
I pray for families who lost a son,
a daughter, a husband or a wife,
and now they must endure
the most agonizing strife.
Please come beside them now
and touch them with Your love,
as You look down on them
from where You reign above.
I pray for our President
all he must do each day,
and those who rule with him,
to seek Your will, Your way.
Please give our leaders wisdom
for all that they must do,
and may they find strength they need,
by taking strength from You.
I pray for all those countries
who will come to our side.
May all men in this battle
seek Your will to abide.
I pray for those who serve,
The firemen and police,
who have the gruesome jobs,
I know will never cease.
I pray for the volunteers
with no reward in sight,
except to serve the needy
and do what they know right.
Please give them wisdom
the strength You know they need
that they may accomplish
this the challenging deed.
I pray for those who question,
this dreadful tragedy,
and wonder how it happened
knowing that You could see,
evil men had gained control
and You still had the power,
to halt their awful sinful deeds
in this the fatal hour.
Heavenly Father, touch them
with mercy and with grace.
Even with their questions
they still must seek Your face.
Heavenly Father, I pray to You
for America today,
and there are those who join me
in this humble prayer I pray.
We really need Your blessings Lord,
Since we have faced dismay,
We really need Your wisdom Lord,
We need Your help today.
Heavenly Father I thank You
For listening to this prayer,
In spite of all the grief I see
somehow I know You care.

The Giant's Awake !
by Ken Wittig ......
Americans have perished without rhyme or reason
But we shall try not to despair
For enemies, known only, as creators of terror
Have blatantly invaded our lair

We shall rise up with more strength than we had,
For though you have caused us great pain
Scars heal, structures rise, but our hurt's turned to rage
We'll endure......... You WON'T do this again

In the end you are doomed, as soon you will  see
You've dug your own graves, that be known
'Cause NOW IT'S OUR TURN to strike, as you'll see
And Extinct shall be on your tombstones

For though your cruel strike has brought us great pain
And sights aren't real clear through the mist
The thing that you'll see when the fog finally lifts,
Is the "Giant's" awake...........and he's pissed!

Proud
Citizens of America, proud and true,
Mournfully bleeding red, white and blue...
The roar of freedom coursing thru our veins,
While New York sifts through what remains.
There were mothers, fathers, husbands, wives,
Who were daily living ordinary lives,
With bills to pay and children to raise...
'Til ignorant hatred, ended their days.

But citizens of America, proud and true
Will arise from the ashes with a job to do!
And security will reign from shore to shore
As America crushes injustice once more!
You can't destroy what is meant to be.
The blood of our ancestors made America free!
And together, with God, United we stand!
Ready to defend...to LOVE our land!

Wake Up Call
We’ve been neither “ sober nor vigilant”
in protection of our world.
We’ve let the “ruler of darkness” enter--
With his flag of wrath unfurled!
Took  our towers down, harmed the Pentagon,
killed thousands of our people, dear.
He counts these as spoils of victory, his
enemies, cowering  in fear.

He’s the “angel of the bottomless pit”
who once more would wield his sword.
He underestimated our strength,
And the power of God’s word.
America is standing united
Along with most of the world,
The dead did not die in vain,
Now that our flag’s unfurled!

How Should We Respond to Terrorists Attacks?
To that scene of horror, my first response
Was influenced by secular thought.
The emotions of hatred and anger appeared,
With others that I had not sought.

But worldly thoughts can view heinous acts
With bitterness, vengeance and pain.
While thoughts inspired in the presence of God
Would provide for a spiritual gain.

To Christians, Good Friday is known as a day
Of dread-filled pain, deep sorrow.
For their savior, hanging nailed to the cross,
Had died, would not see the morrow.

But Easter to Christians is a day of hope,
A day filled with joy and peace,
A day when love is predominant,
When feelings of anguish would cease.

For on that glorious Easter Day,
When their Lord did re-appear,
To Christians, the resurrection of Christ
Brought hope in place of fear.

September Eleven we can look upon
In a worldly or spiritual way.
With Good Friday, we take the secular view,
The Godly with Easter Day.

We can choose a Good Friday or Easter mode
In assessing the terrorist scene.
We can strike with a vengeance all things in our path,
Using all indiscriminate means.

Or instead we could seek, in the presence of God,
How justice we best could attain.
If we find and destroy the cancerous cells,
But allow healthy cells to remain.

Heroes All
Every day of our lives a hero is near.
We know one is passing, when sirens, we hear.
A pumper truck or a long hook and ladder,
What destination—it doesn’t matter.
They’re ready to face any unknown dangers,
Rescue a climber, save the homes of strangers.

Let the siren you hear, bring a prayer to your lips,
That angels ride along on all of their trips.

Often the siren is our law enforcement,
Facing the unknown in every event.
A traffic stop may turn lethal tonight,
Or a terrorist attack- in broad daylight.
May bring the occupants to the edge of fear.

Let the siren you, hear bring a prayer to your lips,
That angels ride along on all of their trips.

Encourage the brave heroes close to your life,
Who with red lights and siren, drive into strife.
Remember the ones who have gone on before,
The many who perished in a terrorist war.
For you and for me, they gave us their all,
With hearts, so brave—answered humanities call.

Let the siren you hear, bring a prayer to your lips,
That angels ride along on all of their trips.

Why America
 By Evelyn M. Bradford, Hawthorne
                                     (An Act of Violence)

                                     It saddens my heart
                                      To see once more
                                      An act of violence
                                     On America’s shore

                                  A country that’s opened
                                      It’s gates, so wide
                                  For the poor and suffering
                                        To come inside

Is this the “thanks” we get
                                     For helping others?
                                     It makes me wonder
                                    It makes me shudder!

                                   And the reason behind
                                     All this aggression?
                                  Is the leaders, themselves
                             Who crave power and possession!

So let us bow our heads
                                  In these “hours of sorrow”
                                     And pray for a better
                                       World, tomorrow

God Bless America
by Anna Jones Davis.....
Oh God, please bless America,
For on our beloved soil,
Has come a hate filled,
Violent act that brings us such turmoil.

Bless us to rise above the grief
     And know where to begin
To rebuild our faith in human kind-
     Avenge this awful sin.

      Bless our trusted, prudent leaders;
      Make them resolute, and wise,
To make the right decision, who
    And how we should reprise.

There are steps that must be taken,
   Honor that must be preserved
      Give them guidance to find those at fault;
       Help justice to be served.

Bless our strong, brave rescue workers,
   In their awesome, tedious task
   Of searching for the thousands,
Who did not survive the blast.

Give them one more breathing victim,
    Pique their dauntless hero’s pride.
May they make one more announcement,
         Someone lives because they tried.

          Bless every son and daughter,
Who will walk across each stage
       Of their life without a parent;
Help them to be strong and brave.

            Give us never ending compassion
          To remember as they grow
To put our arms around them
For the ones who loved them so.

Bless those who’ve lost sons and daughters
That they proudly reared to be
                  Law abiding, proud, good citizens
In this land of brave and free.

Help them know that you remember
How it felt when your son died.
When a cowardly, evil, selfish crowd
                 Made Him be crucified.

               Bless each sleepless, sad companion,
            Lying in big empty beds
             Crying tears into their pillow,
Facing all their life’s worst dreads.

Put your great big arms around them,
Give them strength to make a start
                  Toward some semblance of living
                   With this painful broken heart.

Bless each friend who’s lost a buddy,
One they always had to call
To tell all their heart was thinking,
Whether it was big or small.

They’ll pick up phones to call and share it,
                    Then remember no one’s there.
They will feel so sad and empty,
Oh God let them know you care.

Yes God, Please do Bless America,
                       Help us each to recompense
                         By rebuilding our proud towers
And our walls of strong defense.

They broke our hearts and made us weep,
And destroyed some of our best.
But they will never break our spirits
                              Nor our pursuit for happiness.

SOLITARY THOUGHT

A SOLITARY THOUGHT FILLS MY MIND,
LEAVING ME TO WONDER JUST THIS...WHY?
JUST ANOTHER DAY,
A FRAIL IMAGE TO HOLD THAT WAS LOST IN THAT INSTANT
IN THOSE THOUSANDS OF SOULS.
PAIN SHATTERS THROUGH ME.
EXPRESSED BY ALL OTHERS, LIKE YOU,YOU, AND YOU.
WHO ALL BOND TOGETHER TO HELP IN THE FIGHT.
I CLOSE MY EYES TO KEEP STILL THE PICTURES REOCCURRING,
BUT SOMEHOW I CAN'T SEEM TO BLOCK THIS HORRIBLE PAIN.
THE NEW SLASH IN HISTORY MADE ON THIS DAY,
IS A NEW WOUND OF MEMORY THAT WE ALL HOLD.
THAT WE ALL KNOW AND CARE.
FOR ALL THOSE THAT ARE NO LONGER WITH US!

Enduring Liberty    by Martha Hoffman

Our country was assaulted,
On that bright September day
The enemy was brutal
In an underhanded way
Using suicidal men
To overpower our planes
And crash them into buildings
To cause devastating pain.

Four weeks have passed,
       And now they see
The peaceful giants' wrath
       There is no hiding place
For them, no refuge will they find.
And one by one, they'll perish
Until the very end
Of terror in our happy world
And our kids come home again.

The birds will sing, the flowers bloom
The skies be blue and clear
To mark the end of terrors' reign
With love and peace, so dear
ENDURING LIBERTY o'er the world
We'll sing in tones so pure
God Bless our Happy Planet
        With love that will endure.

SAD SEPTEMBER MORN

Sad September morn,
smoldering up in smoke,

something hit the WTC Towers,
& plunged the daylight into night:

ironbird   deathbird    descended
out the blue, smashed w/fire
& thunder magic mirror'd skies,

on the one-hundredth-and-one floor,
no one got out alive just

a fair frightened angel's voice left
on thin telephone tape--

"I love you," it said quivering
amid the din of frighened cries,

"I love you. . . ,"

words trembled in the hot breeze
before this fair frightened angel faded
into hiss. . .

Ah! Well a-day! that ever this should be!

something hit the WTC Towers
& plunged the daylight into night!

O sad September morn,
smoldering in smoke.
