Halloween Poems....

Ghoul Town

 by Rich Roach........
I walked outside a timid boy
Beneath a sheet of white,
And glided up the ghostly lanes
Of Ghoul Town in the night.

I saw great Goblins gobblin' things,
A dino dining too,
Black vampires vamping through the dark,
And witches none too few.

Some houses made my heart beat fast,
With ghoulish sights and sounds;
Why, even now, rememb'ring them,
My heart each poor rib pounds!

I looked up once and saw the stars,
Looking so cold and small,
And felt a chill that made me run,
My flapping sheet and all,

Till I got home and cried, "Mom!  Dad!
Come look at all my treats!"
We spread them out and licked our lips,
Then munched on countless treats.

Haunted House

by Sheila Panzone.........
Shaded rooms
and grated screams

walls of black
and halls of green

lighted candle
swing to
and fro

coffins slam
with
crashing blows

watching eyes
that
peer and seek

behind portraits
of those
who were meek

journey on
to lightening  towers

past shadowed tombs
in
thunder showers

quietly ascend
the darkened stair

that leads to
who knows
where?

Moody Broom

by Lillian Smith
I fly to the left and fly to the right.
Broom, you're not flying right, tonight.
I climb a little higher and soar around the stars.
Then swoop down and check out the cars.

Another upward burst, way up in the sky.
Fly among the stars so high.
That was close, almost hit that star on the right.
Broom, you're not flying right, tonight.

I think we might check out the lake.
Come on broom, fly right, for darn sake.
Swirl, and dive, make a loop-i-t-loop.
Fly by those teens and hear the latest scoop.

Burr...water is wet and splashable stuff.
But moody broom, enough is enough.
You even got my "familiar" wet.
( My familiar is a large black cat)

Poor, poor, cat, are we all set?

Over the fire-seared canyon--dark and steep.
Broom, fly right, you act half asleep.
Instead of just flying to see what I can see.
We'll go to the witches' jamboree,

Is that where you want to be?

Broom gave a shutter and even a shake
but never did it make a sound.
Sorry, old friend, I almost forgot...
that certain time of year has rolled around.

Broom seemed to stretch out in length,
Picked up a surge of extra strength.
Let's fly like a bat, this Halloween night.
Give everyone a terrible fright!

We'll make everyone run, hide and beware...
Zip and flip through the midnight air.
And when these scaring hours are done,
I'll once again grin, I've had my funnn.

Halloween Fun
by Lillian Smith ....
On this night that's called Halloween,
Witches, ghosts and bats are seen.
Jack-o'-laterns burning bright.
Witches stirring bubbling caldrons in the night.

Sitting by the witches side, a large black cat.
In a wide circle, spooks and goblins sat.
As the witches stir the steaming brew,
The cat rears up and gives a mew.

Then from the dark hemisphere, Bats flew everywhere.
They shrieked and spun in the cool night air.
Strange things happen on Halloween night,
A most amazing sight!

Then the day after Halloween,
None of these things can be seen.
Our October witching hours are done.
We can tell all our neighbors it all was
                  Halloween Fun!

The Creatures are on Parade

by shelby forrest .....
When darkness falls, then you can see
A creature hiding behind each tree,
Goblins, ghosts and ghouls are seen.
Because, of course, it's Halloween

Then clickety, clickety, clickety clack,
Sound like a freight train on a track.
These creaking sounds from bones are made
By skinny skeletons on parade.

Some Leprechauns and tricky Trolls
Are running around a big flagpole.
Witches on brooms and a scary geek
Are playing a game of hide-and-seek.

They make you quiver, they make you shake.
It's not a time to be awake.
You think that everything they do
Is planned for coming after you

But with the daylight comes the dawn
And all the creatures will be gone.
You can relax, but never fear
They'll all be back again next year.

Time For Lantern Lighting

 By Hope Smith.....

Pumpkin lantern lighting
Ghost and goblins seen
Witches with cauldrons
The magic of halloween

A night they come alive
In the costumes dandy
Of skeletons and ghouls
All gobbling the candy

Night of trick a treating
Bats and vampires stalk
Dashing street to street
Covering every sidewalk

Its pockets full of candy
The scary and exciting
The night of halloween
Time for lantern lighting

Love Potions Brew
by Hope Smith

Lets have a magical halloween
One made special for you and I
The brightest silvery moon aglow
Bright stars twinkling in the sky

One treat after another to share
Sharing our Halloween in style
Surrounded with spicy candles
Jack OLantern wearing a smile

We’ll await till the darkness falls
A moonlit floor to dance upon
On the night seductively inviting
Beneath every star that shone

Both dressed for this occasion
Embraced as stars shine down
You in your black velvet tuxedo
Me in my soft red velvet gown

In magical spells of Halloween
All staged romantically for two
Spending the night in your arms
Both tasting love potions brew

The Haunting...
by Anna Marie Hoyer (Dark Mistress)
The bed lies empty, the pillow is cold.
The cobwebs grew as the lies were told.
This house stands empty and dusty with age.
This house so lonely, once was her cage.

Her spirit did die here, it haunts this lonely place.
You would understand this, if you saw her lovely face.
Her heart belonged to one man, he, her lover.
Her body and soul owned by another.

Her spirit still roams here, crying in the night.
He left her waiting in the fading moonlight.
Alone she died here, awaiting his embrace.
Her spirit still lives here, it haunts this lonely place

All Hallows Eve...The Dark Witch..
by Anna Marie Hoyer (Dark Mistress)
All Hallows Eve, appears the dark witch.
She wants your soul, she has a nasty itch.
She is in the shadows, you cannot see her, but you feel her gentle stare....
You reach for her, you grasp nothing, you feel only the heated air.

You hear her gentle voice speak.
As the night of no moon reaches it's peak.
Light suddenly surrounds her, you see her face.
You reach for her again, only to grab empty space.

You hear her chant, the spell is cast.
Then she slowly lowers her mask.
You see her true beauty, for one brief second.
You hear her gentle voice softly beckon.

The enchantress of the dark has stolen your heart.
She now owns the one thing to tear you apart.
The dawn approacheth, her light fades with the sun.
But deep within your heart, the dark witch carries on.

That night she enchanted you.
Now what will your heart do......

Demonic Night...All Hallows Eve...

by Anna Marie Hoyer (Dark Mistress)
A night you thought to have nothing but fun
A night you would find yourself on the run
For in the night something lay in wait
And now I fear, its far too late

You heard the whispers, you ignored
Now in front of you stands...The Darkest Lord

He feels all your pain and tastes your fear
He feeds on each and every tear

His eyes are crimson, he sports the darkest of wings
And you never believed that angels sing
Now you stare at his fangs and his claws
This Dark Lord, he gives you pause

Yet you still believe it to be a joke
Until you feel the deathly poke
As his claw runs over your face
Making your heart race

You stare in horror at the ghouls by his side
You smell the stench of death and your eyes go wide
You try to back away and hide your fear
Realizing your death could be near

You turn and you run fearing your death
Panting and sweating, out of breath
When suddenly you run through a door and into the light
With the echoing laughter of demons to haunt you through the night...

All Souls Nigh'
by Anna Marie Hoyer (Dark Mistress)
The moon riseth high as the candles were lit
And from the ground came an eerie mist
Jac'o'lanterns doeth sit upon the porches of the people
And began the mythic night, bow down o'ye that are feeble

The lyre struck up to begin the dance of haunting
And from the shadows, came an evil so daunting
Demons doeth riseth from the ground
Next to them stood a deadly hellhound

Within a pentagram stood a rare beauty
The Dark Witch riseth to her duty
As the moon shall zenith, her hands did riseth into the air
Her eyes did glow, and would become deadly, should ye stare

When all around her the mist and shadows should begin to dance
Ye suddenly feel as if ye are in a drug induced trance
Her hand gently beckons, she whispers ye name
'Tis ye soul, upon which she doeth now claim!

Drawn, ye cannae resist, ye cannae fight!
She circles ye as she dances the dance of All Souls Nigh'
She toucheth ye cheek and ye closeth ye eyes
Ye can hear the lost souls heartfelt sighs

As the moon shall wane, she shall retreat
As ye watch, ye feel more complete
For ye know she shall return again
And then ye feel the magickal drain

The mist should slip away as the sun should rise
As would the demonic and souless cries
Ye are left to wonder if it was real
But deep within...ye feel the magickal appeal

All Souls Nigh', Dance and be merry
Remember in ye heart the burdens ye carry
All Souls Nigh' Meet ye Dark Witch
Be wary, 'twill be ye soul she doeth snitch....
