Calico
When
she lost her dog, she swore that was it,
No
more animals would break her heart,
Then
into the station wandered this cat,
No
sir, she said...... I'll have no part !
....Okay,
well.... I'll take her home for tonight,
Just
till we search for her owner,
Now,
that was much more than just a mistake,
Twas
a first-class triple A ... boner !
For
just like the houseguest who never would leave,
This
cat made herself right at home,
A
permanent fixture, she soon became
Which
is why I have written this poem.
For
she'd not only captured this lady's heart,
But
she must have affected her head,
For
when they couldn't find "calico's" home,
She
decided to keep her instead.
Now
for some this might not seem all that odd,
For
a lover of pets, she was still,
But
you see, she's allergic,
And
just to say hi,
She
must swallow an allergy pill !
